Frequently asked questions
Questions? We have answers!
Will there be a shuttle bus to the Games?
Yes! Free shuttle buses will run from Angrignon Metro Station throughout the day.
When do the massed pipe bands perform at the Games?
You can see the massed bands in the main field during the opening and closing ceremonies at 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Will there be food at the Games?
Food selections vary significantly depending on the vendors present. We cannot guarantee that there will be vegan or gluten-free options. Attendees are permitted to bring snacks should they wish. Alcohol is not permitted to be brought onto the grounds. For a complete list of our food concessions, please visit our Concessions and vendors page.
What about haggis?
The Burgundy Lion Pub will be serving haggis to be eaten on site. There are no vendors selling haggis to be taken home.
Are the grounds wheelchair accessible?
The Games are held in a field, and there are no paved or gravel pathways. The weather is unpredictable, and rainy conditions in the days leading up to the Games can leave the site muddy and difficult to manoeuvre. We offer wheelchair-accessible portalets, and there is designated parking for those with disabled parking permits.
Can I bring my dog to the Games?
Due to city rules, DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED at the Montreal Highland Games. Please do not try to sneak your dog in: we do not want to have to ask you to leave the Games.
What do I wear at the Games?
The most important thing to wear is your Highland Games wristband! Security guards have the right to ask you to show your wristband at any time. Attendees not wearing their wristbands will be escorted to the entrance gate and asked to purchase a ticket to the Games. Please note that all supporters who are accompanying competitors and performers (athletes, dancers, musicians, etc.) must purchase their own tickets.
Depending on the weather it may be best to wear something to help you stay cool as the majority of the events are under the sun. Of course, traditional attire will always be more fun!

Where can I buy Scottish and Celtic articles in Montreal?
You can order online Scottish merchandise and attire in advance from Scottish Central. At the Games, there are vendors offering these items: please visit our Concessions and vendors page for more details.
What happens with lost children and lost-and-found articles?
Please write your phone number on your child’s wristband when you go through the admission gate so that we can call you in the event that you become separated from your child in the crowd. Tell your child that they can ask for help from anyone wearing a Montreal Highland Games staff or volunteer T-shirt. Lost children will be brought to the information booth near the front gate.
Should you find any item that is not yours, or should you lose something of value, please visit the information booth as this will be the hub for lost-and-found articles.
